[Richard has lived in Taipei for 18 years, but has never been to New York.]

New York City so nice, they had to name it twice. The city is America’s city. Washington D.C. might be the nation’s capitol, but New York is where everything happens.
Sometimes it seems like New York is America’s only city. If you are not from New York then you are not from anywhere, but if you can make it there, you can make it anywhere. Anyplace else is Palookaville.

Most of our favorite movies and TV shows were filmed in New York. Sometimes it is like some kind of dream land. It is TV land.

 
Buh buh buh buh buh

The New York Times is “the paper of record”. It is the largest newspaper in the largest city. Somewhere in New York City is the financial capitol of the United States. It is known as Wall Street. The New York Stock Exchange is the biggest in the world.

Central Park is the model of all city parks in all the world. Many people who live in New York think that it is the best park in the world, but I don’t know that. It may be the most famous one. Taipei’s Da’an Forest Park is always compared to the famous New York City park. Da’an Park is pretty nice. It is peaceful and attractive.

There are many live theaters on a street in New York called Broadway. There are famous actors on Broadway that, if you lived anywhere but New York, you would have to go to the movies to see.

Niagara Falls is the stereotyped honeymoon destination. This is on the border between Canada and the US in northern New York state. Whenever somebody mentions Niagara Falls, you automatically turn slowly, step by step, inch by inch.

New York has so much going for it, and still the people there think they are so tough. Now, Los Angeles, that is the city, that is a whole different, naked story. I’ll tell you about it later. Thank you for reading this one.
