There’s plenty of ways to have fun in the USA.
For a weekday, you might go out to dinner and go shopping. Some people celebrate Wednesdays as the mid point of the week or ‘hump day’ the day you are over the hump on the way to the weekend. Since many people work, there is only for them a narrow prime time window in which to operate. You hardly have time to catch a movie without getting home late and then you will be dragging at work the next day.
On Friday you will have a chance to stay out late. Many people make the most of it. They go to drink in dark rooms with bright lights and loud music. By 2 A.M. there will be a lot of people eating a late night breakfast at any restaurant that is still open that late. People eat pancakes and sausage while drinking orange juice and cup after cup of hot coffee.
Go watch a football game.
Sporting events are fun to go to on the weekend. You can catch a high school football game on Friday, a college football game on Saturday, or a professional game on Sunday. If it is not football season then there is always basketball or baseball season. There is a sport in season at all times.
Get active on the weekend. Go play golf, ride a bike, or ski. Not only is it fun, it is healthy. You will live longer and be more likely to be physically capable of having still more fun.
Sometimes it is just as much fun to stay in and spend some time with your family. Say hello to your pets and let them crawl all over you unless you have turtles or fish. Catch up on your TV shows, read a book, or play a musical instrument. Get creative.
People have fun in various ways. Everyone to their own muse—dancing to their own drum, and it’s not so different from what we do in Taiwan. Thank you for reading; I hope you had a good time.
